The Family is a crimedy (crime comedy) with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer as mobster family parents who are a part of witness protection due to having turned on the mob they were once a part of. While in relocation to Normandy, they are eventually discovered and all hell basically breaks loose.
This movie is fairly amusing, has several very funny scenes, but overall it just feels kind of bland. De Niro being a mobster is old and dated and has been done a ton of times. I do like seeing Dianna Agron in a role that doesn’t involve singing and John D’Leo is very funny! Tommy Lee Joneshas a small role in this which isn’t prominent at all, but has some good stale funny moments.
Overall this was pretty good. My only real drawback, which was a big one, was how Belle (Dianna Argon) was going to commit suicide after her tutor boyfriend took her flower and then basically treated her like a fling. That was a completely unnecessary arc within the overall story. I think it would have been FAR more suiting had she gone and kicked his ass.
I’d suggest this if you have nothing else to watch.
