A team of Navy Seal’s attempt to gather information on a Taliban leader, and all hell breaks loose and ultimately Marcus Luttrell is the lone survivor.
I have seen a lot of war and combat movies, some have been very bloody, some tragic, some scary, some gory, and some very emotional. Lone Survivor made me cry. Yep, I’m not afraid to admit that I, a 6′ tall, tattooed, bearded, big guy, cried like a little girl when I watched this braveman lose his brothers and then be saved and protected by total strangers.
I feel like a lot of war and combat movies have a cast that are big names, or athletes, or perhaps ex-military. I’m not gonna say they didn’t do their roles justice, but I really just feel that Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster (actor) really did the four real life men this movie is based on, true respect and justice.
Some of the violence and content of this movie are not for everyone, but for everyone else, it gives a glimpse into humanity and that there are still some out there who will do anything for a total stranger in need. Amazing movie, simply fantastic, highly recommended.
