I do enjoy going out to eat, typically to new places so I can just explore new eats. Well, the other day Jenna and I went out to lunch and while sitting there, I did what I typically do and did some people watching. Well, one table of three ladies in particular had just been served their food and one of the ladies in particular was, without a shadow of a doubt, a very ugly eater.
Now, when I eat, I typically try my best not to chew with my mouth open, I try not to be overtly messy, I just generally try not to be all-purpose uncouth. With that being said, when this woman ate, she would almost snarl while she ate, chewed almost exclusively with her mouth agape, and seemed to have zero regard for others nearby as she would make a “smacking noise” variously while eating.
I fully understand that different people have different concepts on table manners and such, like I have no problem having my elbows on the table, I don’t care what side the silverware goes on, and depending on the location/setting, I may even let a belch loose. But when it comes to making faces that border on beastly when you’re stuffing your face; making noises that border on repulsive while jamming a burger in your maw; and not having a single care about any of it, just be a little bit mindful of the company you keep because they very likely don’t want anything to do with your ugly eating.
